Give the gift of Nashua history
November 21, 2016
For the first time in a decade, the Nashua Public Library has copies of The Nashua Experience: History in the Making, 1673–1978 available for sale and holiday giving.
The book, written by a committee of Nashuans headed up by former Library Director Clarke S. Davis, is the definitive history of the city.
Also available is The Nashua Experience: A Three-Decade Upgrade, 1978–2008. This sequel tells the story of the Best Place to Live in America awards, the growth of high-tech, the fight for a wetlands ordinance, the sesquicentennial celebration, and the high school project. You can even read about the unusual circumstances in which Jim Donchess became mayor the first time, in 1984, and see a picture of what he looked like at age 35.
Until December 31, you can buy both books at the library, gift wrapped, for the special price of $30. (Price if purchased separately: $25.)
