One of the primary reasons I enjoy reading is that I think of it as a minivacation away from the thoughts and worries of day-to-day life.
A majority of my formative years I’ve spent in pursuit of a career in law enforcement and public safety, and my jobs have put me in contact with some negative aspects of the human condition. Reading for me is a form of catharsis; so long as it has an interesting story, I will read almost anything. From true crime to British fiction from the late 1800s, there is almost no genre I don’t have an interest in.
Most of my life I’ve lived in and around New England. I’ve gone to schools in Virginia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and online in pursuit of a higher education.
When not working or reading I’m planning for the future, traveling, and trying to learn a new language. Thus far I’ve traveled to Ecuador, Turkey, Italy, and Greece and plan to do much more in the future, always bringing a good book with me.
