I was very fortunate, many years ago, to be told by my children’s literature professor at UNH that there was a position for a children’s library assistant available at the Nashua Public Library. I realized shortly after starting that I had found the perfect job for me; a combination of working with kids, which I love, and children’s books, which I also love. I enjoy reading everything from infant board books to picture books, early readers to middle elementary novels and nonfiction. My biggest challenge is finding time to peruse all the new books that arrive each month. Consequently, my adult reading is more or less limited to cookbooks, knitting books, and the occasional adult novel!
In my free time I like to read, knit, sew, putter around with my houseplants, and dig in the small garden plots in my yard. When on vacation or out for a drive with my husband, I often find myself roaming around in bookstores and public libraries. A true busman’s holiday!
