Tips for Success

  • Books read during storytime count, too! View our story times here. We are happy to offer specialized story times for different age groups as well as a Family Story Time for kids of all ages on Saturdays.
  • Feeling bored with your home library? Choose one day a week to be library day!
  • Looking to extend your reading? Check out our themed Read and Play kits for activities that compliment books around a certain theme.
  • Need book suggestions? Check out our rotating book displays, book suggestion bookmarks, or talk to library staff at the Children’s Desk. NoveList Recommended Reads lists (on the main page of NoveList) can provide great lists based on topics, feelings, and emotions, or interests like dancing, painting, and music.
  • Repeating readings count; re-reading favorite books benefits kids. They can learn the story, re-tell it back to you, and begin to make it their own.
  • Audiobooks are a great way to share stories with your child! Check out our audiobooks on CD, Wonderbooks, as well as Tumblebook Kids and Libby for e-audio books
