Friends of the Library

In 2009, the Friends introduced a new program to enhance the City’s Nashua Reads program with Beyond the Book, which is a program that includes a presentation by the author of the book. The next selection will be announced in June of 2016.

Past authors are:

• 2009:  Chris Bohjalian, the author of Skeletons at the Feast
• 2010:  Elizabeth Berg, the author of We Are All Welcome Here
• 2011:  James McBride, the author of Song Yet Sung
• 2012:  Jane Hamilton, the author of When Madeline Was Young
• 2013:  Julia Glass, the author of The Widower’s Tale
• 2014:  B.A. Shapiro, the author of The Art Forger
• 2015: Lily King, the author of Euphoria

The Friends hold an annual book sale on the third weekend in March. The next one will be held on March 18 through 20, 2016. In addition to the annual book sale, we sell on a continuing basis in our Booktique in the Library lobby. The profits from these sales, about $20,000 a year, fund programs and services at the Library.
