Meeting Minutes YALS Meeting Dunbarton Public Library

NEWS FROM THE STATE: Flume Award Nominees for 2009-2010 will be posted after 2008-2009 winners are announced. Voting for the 2008-2009 nominees has been extended for a week. A brochure has been written up, and will be made available to Jenn and Ann prior to the conference. There was discussion for the possibility of an award for favorite series.
Kate had sign ups for introducing speakers at the conference- if interested please contact her at the Manchester Public Library. Jenn is looking for volunteers to be at the YALS table in the registration area in between programs and during other conference breaks.
OTHER PROGRAMS: Discussion of fun summer programs activities including frozen t-shirt contest and ice cube melting contest. Nashua will be having a week long manga workshop program with Marek Bennett. Discussion about Good Reads- Jenn created a YALS reader advisory. This led to a discussion of the multitude of online forums such as this and what other libraries are using. Some libraries have Facebooks and Myspace profiles, and some use Twitter.
