Meeting Minutes 01/25/07 Derry Public Library 10:00 a.m. Coffee at 9:30 a.m.
Fall Meeting: Wiggins Memorial Library NHLA News (Ann Hoey - State Library): YALS is sponsoring a session at the May NHLA Conference in which Robin Brenner from No Flying No Tights. She will speak about graphic novels. YALS will have a table at the conference. Bookmarks with YALS website will be created and distributed. Approximately 200 bookmarks should be created. Stephanie Piro from Farmington is a cartoonist who will sketch some images for the bookmarks. Librarians should come to the next meeting with teen readers advisory websites to put on the back of the bookmarks. Flume bookmarks with the list of 13 nominations for 2008 will also be created to distribute at the conference. YALS website (Jenn Jasinski - Nashua): Add a link to the NHLA READS book discussion questions when they are put online. Amy Friedman (Hudson) is working on this project for READS. Create a page for teen book discussion questions. Add questions by title as .pdf documents. Add the template for the teen programs as a .pdf so people can continue to add to it. Or perhaps create a web form if possible that is emailed to webmaster. NH Traveling Pants Program (Tim Sheehan – Derry): Project Blog with schedule and updates: http://www.nhtravelingpants.blogspot.com/ This project was based on a project in the Midwest that Tim and Wendy saw on a listserv. They created 3 different routes for pants around the state. Each library will have the pants for a week. During this time they have the opportunity to add their mark, plan a program around them, and put them on display for all to see. The pants also come with a scrapbook and notebook to document the experience. Librarians shared new teen books from their collections
